The Rural Public Health Challenge
Presentations from the 2/27/2002 Roundtable Forum
February 2002
The February Roundtable looked at rural capacity needs in public health and featured a new study by the National Association of County and City Health Officials that for the first time offers data on the capacity, operational and service distinctions of rural public health agencies. The Roundtable looked at the rural side of assuring effective national surveillance and adequate preventive and primary care. Local officials from Idaho and Kansas described the obstacles they face and strategies needed to overcome them.
